Itinerary

  • 4:00 AM: Pick up from your hotel in Cusco and transfer to Ollantaytambo Train Station. (If starting in Ollantaytambo, pick up is at 5:20–5:30 AM).
  • 6:10 AM: Board the Expedition train and enjoy a scenic ride through the Vilcanota River canyon.
  • 7:30 AM: Arrival at Aguas Calientes. Meet your guide and take a 30-minute shuttle bus to Machu Picchu.
  • 8:00 AM–11:00 AM: Guided tour of Machu Picchu Citadel, exploring its agricultural, residential, and religious sectors.
  • 11:00 AM–1:00 PM: Free time for photos and exploration.
  • 1:00 PM: Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included).
  • 3:20, 4:22, 4:43, or 6:20 PM: Expedition train back to Ollantaytambo.
  • Evening: Transfer by private van to your hotel in Cusco, arriving around 7:00–10:00 PM, depending on the train schedule.
